Motivation Erasing education as part of genocide is a well-considered finding because it is based on the fact that the Israelis do not only target UNWRA schools in order to undermine the mandate of the UN organization. The Israelis are targeting all schools with the unverifiable excuse that they are used by Hamas. More than 70% of the schools have been either severely damaged or completely destroyed under such unprovable pretext. Taking away the right to learn, the right to have knowledge obtained at school, is deliberately inflicting a condition in people's lives who are already subjected to other conditions inflicted by Israelis. Eliminating education is intended to prevent Gaza from having highly educated scientists and technicians in the future. This approach reflects the policy behind the Israeli dystopian perception after the "war": making the resumption of daily life impossible. Israeli and pro-Israeli media are painting the way schools are used like "school-turned-shelter". It is a dehumanizing phrase that does not reflect the reality as they silenced the fact that no one have organized nor came to the idea to use schools as shelter. The majority of schools in Gaza where run by UNWRA. People believed that UN facilities are protected by international law. That is why they went to these facilities after being forced under threat to clear an area that the Israelis wanted to destroy. Schools became targets for the same reason houses and residential buildings are targeted: preventing people to have a safe place to stay. That is dystopian.
